Don’t let the bean counters and odds trackers fool you. While it’s true that Video Poker and Blackjack are the best long-term games, you can definitely win serious money playing Keno. Especially when you play Four Card Keno. I play Four Card Keno when I’m too tired to concentrate on Video Poker strategy (my game of choice). I do well using my ‘mystic gambling’ system and I have a lot of fun. Plus, I’ll win a jackpot on almost every trip. That’s not to say that Four Card Keno isn’t a game of chance. It certainly is. Other than developing your own ‘mystic system’ there is no definite strategy. But I’ve learned tricks that will give you a better chance of winning jackpots, playing longer and having more fun. Oh yeah –playing Four Card Keno is a lot of fun – but winning at Four Card Keno is even better. So let’s get started!

First some Keno basics Traditional Keno is a live game that’s played in an area of many casinos called the Keno Parlor. The parlors are becoming less popular because Video Keno is rapidly replacing the traditional game. But the appeal of Keno is still the same: you can bet a little -and win a lot. It’s essentially a mini lottery with a new game starting every few minutes. Actually, in the case of Video Keno, you can play a new game every few seconds!

KENO can be played daily, with drawings occurring every few minutes, from 6:04am until 2:29am the next morning. KENO tickets can be purchased 24 hours a day. Where can players watch the KENO drawings? You can see the KENO drawings at any KENO monitor retailer. For a listing of KENO monitor locations near you, got to our Find a Retailer web page.

The standard Video Keno screen (graphic on right) is made up of squares that are numbered one through eighty. The computer will randomly draw and highlight twenty numbers from the eighty. You play by selecting a group of numbers (called spots) on your card (the screen) that you hope will match some of the twenty numbers that the computer draws. Generally you can bet on trying to catch as few as two spots and as many as ten spots. How much you’ll win will depend on the type of ‘spots’ you play, the amount that you bet and how many numbers you match.

Keno plays every 4 minutes with 56 ways to win. Ticket cost: Wager $1 up to $20 per game Drawings: Games every 4 minutes Jackpots: Rolling 8-spot jackpot average - $30,000 How It Works The More You Match, The More You Win. Keno is an easy game that’s played with spots (numbers) from 1 to 80. In each game, 20 of the 80 numbers are randomly. How to win at Keno every time Keno tickets consist of 80 numbers per game and players can select as many numbers as they want. The number of numbers usually selected range between 1 and 15, but sometimes players choose up to as many as 20. The more numbers you pick, the higher the payout you will receive for 'catching your numbers.' Carolina Keno is a fast-paced lottery draw-style game that's easy to play, with a chance to win great cash prizes every 4 minutes. For each Keno drawing, 20 numbers out of 80 will be selected as winning numbers. You can decide how many of these numbers (called Spots) and exactly which numbers you will try to match. Four Card Video Keno Screen

Four Card Keno is played the same way as standard Keno but, as the name implies, you can play up to four cards per game. So, the computer still draws only 20 numbers but you now have four chances, on four separate cards, to match some or all of your spots. The four cards are designated as A, B, C, and D at the top of the Four Card Keno screen (graphic on left). Just touch the card that you want to play, place your bet and select the number of spots you want to play. Select the next card and repeat the process. After you pick two or more spots on each card, a ‘Start’ button will appear in the bottom righthand corner of the screen. Press that ‘Start’ button to begin the game. Watch as the computer picks 20 numbers and see how many you match. You might notice the SWITCH button just to the left of the card selections. Press that button to ‘switch’ the screen view between looking at a single card or seeing all four cards at the same time. You can also use the SWITCH button to bet on all four cards without having to bet each card individually.

Let The Fun Begin – Mystic 3 Spots! People gamble for many reasons and on every budget. Four Card Keno can satisfy the gambling urge on every level because you can control the odds and the amount of your bet. For example, the lower the number of spots – the better your chances of winning. In other words, it’s easier to pick two or three numbers out of twenty than it is to pick eight or nine. It follows that catching three out three pays a lot less than catching seven out of seven. If you like to win often and play for as long as possible, the three spot may be perfect for you. And that’s the idea behind the Mystic Three Spots . There are two versions.

Version One – Break even when you catch any 2 and get paid on all cards when you hit any 3 out of 3 Set up each card as shown in the graphics below

. Card A – Numbers 41, 52 and 62

Card B – Numbers 52, 62 and 71 Notice how we have two common numbers (52 and 62) between card A and Card B.

Card C – Numbers 41, 62, and 71

Card D – Numbers 41, 52 and 71

Here’s a Video of the setup:

The video was recorded during live play and as it happened I didn’t hit anything on the first two games. That’s the way it goes in Keno. You’ll have more losers than winners. But you’ll also win quite a few Jackpots – especially when you play the Mystic 3 spot. Not long after I made that video I hit the 3 spot on all four cards. Check-out the screenshot below. In version one of The Mystic 3 spot is the combinations of the four numbers – 41,52,62, and 71. If you catch two numbers, you’ll get paid on two cards which means that you’ll break even on the bet. If catch all three numbers on one card you’ll win the jackpot for that card but you’ll also get paid something from the other three cards. I look at it as a bonus. Plus – every once in a while, you’ll catch a three spot on all four cards. See the graphic on right. When that happens you’ll appreciate one of the reasons that I love to play Four Card Keno. It’s the ability to win on multiple cards and setting up the cards to give yourself the most bang for your bet.

You don’t have to wait until you go to the casino to test this or any ideas that you might have. That’s because the company that makes Four Card Keno has created a special website where you can play Four Card Keno and other variations for free. It’s not a gambling website at all but the games are just like the real thing – because it’s run by the company that makes the Keno and Video Poker games that you play in the casino. Try it – Play Keno and Video Poker Free! Keep in mind that you don’t have to become a member to play the games. It’s totally free unless you want to participate in competitions and win prizes. Play Four Card Keno and Video Poker for free without being a member or you can join to participate in contests and win prizes. But again, it’s not a gambling site. It’s strictly for fun and practice.

Michigan Keno! is a 10-22-80 game in which the player picks 10 numbers from 1 to 80, and the lottery draws 22.

The odds of winning Michigan Keno are one in 2,546,203. Compare that to the jackpot odds of one in 10,737,573 of winning Classic 47; or or one in 30,821,472 of winning Lucky for Life, or one in 292 million of winning the Powerball lottery or one in 302,575,350 of winning the Mega Millions game! However, the best game in Michigan with odds of one in 575,757 is the Michigan Fantasy5.

Here are some valuable number selection tips for Michigan Keno! from Gail Howard's book, Lottery Master Guide, that should fatten your bank account. (Advantage Gold software makes all the number selection charts for this game; and the wheeling software to use is Wheel Ten Gold.)

Twenty-eight percent of all the winning numbers drawn in Michigan Keno! are numbers that won in the last drawing, and 48 percent of all the winning numbers are either repeat hits or numbers that were out only one game. Furthermore, 62 percent of all winners were out TWO GAMES OR LESS!

PLAY ONLY THE HOTTEST NUMBERS

Keep in mind, you need to get only HALF of the 22 numbers drawn to get the 10 numbers required to win the jackpot. Repeat hits AND numbers out ONE game (that is, numbers repeated from the previous drawing, and numbers drawn one game before that) account for about half of all the winning numbers drawn. Eliminate a number if it has already had three hits in a row. Two valuable tools in the Advantage Gold software help further target numbers more likely to hit and helps you eliminate numbers unlikely to hit: The Multiple Hit Pattern Chart® shows which numbers are most likely to hit two drawings in a row and which repeat hits to eliminate; the Skip and Hit® Chart shows ONLY which numbers hit most often after skipping just one game (and two games) from your group.

BEST TIMING FOR GUARANTEED HOTTEST NUMBERS

In the 10-22-80 game, six numbers, on average, are repeated from the previous drawing. When you see one or two drawings that have had fewer than six repeat hits, you could expect the next drawing or two to have a higher than average number of repeat hits.

Consider this a VERY Short Term Bias Tracker®, because we are considering only the last two drawings—expecting to see an immediate Trend Reversal when the Bias shows a below average number of repeat hits. Nine of the winning numbers are either repeat hits or numbers out just one game. And 11 of the winning numbers drawn are either repeat hits or numbers out one or two games. You don't have to play every day. Wait for one or two drawings that have had fewer than 9 winning numbers out two games or less, because invariably the next drawing or two will produce more of those than average, making it easier to win.

WHEN TO PLAY A LONG SHOT NUMBER

Since one-quarter of all Michigan keno numbers are drawn each game, you don't see many long skip periods between wins. The longest losing streak for any keno number was 33 games. In the entire 3000+ game history of a 10-22-80 keno, only once has a number skipped more than 30 drawings without a win. When you see a number out more than 30 drawings, by all means play it. Probability is on your side. A long shot number in keno is one that has skipped more than 9 games. (In Lotto 6/49, a long shot number is one that has been out for 17 games or more.) Numbers out for more than ten games account for only four percent of the winning numbers drawn.

GET THE ODD/EVEN ADVANTAGE

You should have a relatively equal mix of odd and even numbers. More than half (56%) of all the drawings have a relatively even spread of 11 Odd/11 Even or 10 Odd/12 Even or 12 Odd/10 Even. There has never been a drawing in which all Odd or all Even numbers occurred. The Odd/Even Bias Tracker® in Advantage Gold tells you when you should play more Odd or more Even numbers.

GET THE HIGH/LOW ADVANTAGE

In keno, half your numbers should be chosen from the Low Numbers, 1 to 40, and the other half chosen from the High Numbers, 41 to 80. More than half (56%) of all the drawings have a relatively even spread of 11 Low/11 High or 10 Low/12 High or 12 Low/ 10 High. There has never been a drawing in which all Low or all High numbers occurred. The Low/High Bias Tracker® tells you whether you should play more Low or more High numbers the next drawing.

USE BALANCED WHEEL® SYSTEMS

Balanced Wheel® Systems allow you to bet a large group of numbers, play scientific combinations of those numbers, and get a specific minimum win guarantee. Balanced Wheels® force all the winning numbers that are in your group to come together to give you at least one prize if some or all of the winning numbers are in your chosen group.

It's true that the more numbers you wheel, the easier it is to trap the winning numbers in your chosen group. But to get the most leverage for your money, the optimum number of numbers to wheel is not more than four or five numbers over HALF the numbers in your game. Otherwise, you'll be spending MORE money chasing a SMALLER guaranteed prize. You benefit more by wheeling a carefully selected group of lotto numbers.

Lottery Pools and Lottery Syndicates

POOL YOUR WAY TO LOTTO RICHES

Several of the 109 Lotto jackpots won with Smart Luck lottery systems were won by groups of people who pooled their money. Sharing the ticket cost with others stretches your Lotto budget. By playing with a group, you can afford to buy more lottery tickets—and play larger wheeling systems—than you could (or should) by yourself. Draw up an agreement and have the members of your pool sign it.

How to Get Lucky in Lotto

CASH IN ON THE LUCK OF OTHERS

When you form a Lotto pool, your group is also pooling its aggregate luck. A jackpot could happen because of the luck just one member brings to your pool. Select your partners carefully. Share your luck with winners, not losers. Avoid negative people; not only are they unlucky, but they dampen enthusiasm and drain energy from others. You want to enhance your own luck, not dilute its strength. One quick way to tell winners from losers is simply to ask them: 'Do you think you are a lucky person?' Many people quickly admit, 'I'm unlucky. I never win anything.' They won't bring good luck to your group either.

CASH IN ON A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

No one should play games of chance out of desperation because they need the winnings. The needy have a greater fear of losing the hard-earned money they gamble with. It is just one of life's dirty tricks that the very fear of losing blocks the winning forces. Thoughts are charged with energy, especially when triggered by emotion. Fear attracts exactly that which one fears. A strong desire for a goal that is charged with positive energy, attracts a positive response, especially when every effort is made to attain that goal.
